On a Side Note:

My family visited me while I was here, and it reinforced in my mind just how important family is to me. All of my friends swore that they would come visit me this summer, and not a single one did. Even the one who was in the same state as me for a while! But my family took a full week (two weeks for my brother) out of their busy schedules and camped near by. It was amazing getting to see them. They give me all of the support I could ask for and more, and it is really amazing to know that I can count on them all the time. Even when everyone else bails out on me.
They will get up early (5:30am on their vacation), stay up late (3:00am for the Harry Potter premier), and give all kinds of advice and even car help in between. And I don't think they know how much I really appreciate it.

Almost Done...

So this summer has definitely flown by. I've gotten more responsibilities than I ever expected to have this summer. I'm responsible for getting quotes, getting POs for work that we need to get done, communicating with scheduling personnel, running experiments, training people, creating templates and new job aids, and even finding and fixing other problems that I find. It's the best kind of stress I've ever experienced, and apparently I'm doing really well under the pressure. Everyone seems impressed with the work I'm doing and then in turn adding more work onto my plate. You would THINK that with only 2 weeks until my last day, that the projects would be winding down, but I got a new one two days ago!

This entire summer has been a giant learning experience. There is so much to learn about going into the real world that can't possibly be taught inside a classroom. I am really glad I got a head start on most people, I feel like it's going to help me in the long run. I have experience, that has given me a real world/business maturity already that most people my age haven't gotten to achieve yet.

Now we'll have to see where I stand on all of this in two weeks :)
